“My son still thinks our old minivan can survive anything. Last winter we sat in a parking lot eating fries while the snow came down harder than either of us expected. Honestly one of the better nights we’ve had in a while.”

Each member answers the same five questions.
Here are a few of their answers.
“My son still thinks our old minivan can survive anything. Last winter we sat in a parking lot eating fries while the snow came down harder than either of us expected. Honestly one of the better nights we’ve had in a while.”
“I spent most of my thirties carrying my tool bag in and out of apartment buildings before sunrise. My daughter used to leave little drawings inside the front pocket when she was younger. I still haven’t taken them out.”
“My dad always kept a red Coleman in the trunk even if we weren’t going anywhere important. Now I do the same thing without really thinking about it. Feels strange noticing when you become somebody slowly.”
“We stayed one night in a motel outside Dayton after the transmission died. My kids thought eating fast food on the hotel bed was the greatest vacation they’d ever had. Funny what actually sticks.”
“I used to think buying the expensive YETI was ridiculous until I realized I’d carried the same one every day for four years. The dent near the bottom came from dropping it in a hospital parking garage.”
“I spent two summers grilling in the backyard with a cracked lid because I couldn’t justify replacing it yet. The handle burned your hand a little if you forgot. Everybody still asked for burgers anyway.”
Story of the Week
Most Records stay in the archive. Occasionally, one goes further.
When a story is selected, the member is paid.
Observed in partnership with Modelo.
“Every Friday after work I stop at the same taco place by myself before I go home. Been doing it for about six years. My wife knows, my kids know. Nobody asks about it anymore. It’s maybe 45 minutes. I eat, I have a Modelo, I just sit there and look out the window. It just helps me switch from one thing to the other. I don’t really know how to explain it better than that.”
